A visit not to be missed for its exceptional architecture, art collections and gardens. Built in the style of a French Renaissance Chateau by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild between 1874 and 1885 it is home to the Rothschild collection especially renowned for the quality and depth of its French 18C furniture, porcelain and textiles. It opened to the public in 1959 and the Rothschild Foundation, a family charitable trust, continues to manage the property on behalf of the National Trust as well as providing the majority of the funding.
We will have a private guided tour of the Manor in the morning and will be free to explore at leisure in the afternoon. Lunch and refreshments are available on site.
Bookings will open at our March 7th meeting.
