Broughton Castle is a moated and fortified manor house, the home of Lord and Lady Saye and Sele, which has remained in the same family since 1447. It was a centre of opposition to Charles I and was besieged and damaged after the battle of Edgehill in 1642. It sits in unspoilt parkland with beautiful gardens and has often been used for film locations, most recently ‘Wolf Hall’. The Castle will be opened specially for our private visit. We will spend the day there with coffee/tea on arrival, a guided tour of the house in the morning, after which lunch is provided. In the afternoon we can explore the gardens at leisure.
