“Take 4: Interiors” is part of a series of theme based lectures, in this instance looking at the theme of Interiors. The theme is considered through the work of 4 different artists in different places and periods, or from 4 different points of view.
In INTERIOR, The artists are :- Edouard Vuillard; Jan Van Eyck; Jan Vermeer; Edward Hopper.
In each case, there is a “main” image with other supporting images. It shows the different character, attitudes and techniques that each artist used, how they differ and how they inform us about the times and places in which they lived.
Ronnie Ireland is an artist, based in southern England. He exhibits his own work, teaches art and give lectures on art history. His main interest is in the How and Why of art. Why did the artist make this; how did they make this; and crucially, how do these two aspects interact?
